I grew up in the rainy and creative city of Glasgow, with my family roots in the sunny Isle of Wight where tomatoes grow.
Before going to Cambridge School of Art, I studied English and French at the University of St Andrews, and Social Justice and Community Action at the University of Edinburgh. There I learned about speaking with words. The MA in Children’s Book Illustration set me on a journey towards speaking with pictures.
The way I make images is like growing a wild coLourfuL garden of different textures and shapes. I draw what I see and remember, from everyday life, memories and dreams. Then I use printmaking and collage to make the drawings come alive.
